The day has finally come, Mayah started kindergarten today. I can not believe how fast this day has come. She was really excited, very brave and loved it. We started out the morning with breakfast that she picked, waffles with strawberries and whipped cream. Then we got all dressed, that is when I knew I was going to have a harder time than her as she informed me " don't worry mom I'll be fine I know what I'm doing." (the tears start now) I said I know and that she would be great. The next hard part for me was when I had the clever idea to write I love you on the palm of her hand. She loved the idea and I told her that if she gets nervous at school to look at that and know that I love her and am praying for her. Fast forward to us getting ready to leave the house and she comes with a pen in her hand and tells me to give her my hand. She wrote I love you on my palm. (how do you not cry when she does that?? I don't know because I did) She is such a tenderhearted girl I just love it. Then Kyle and I are discussing how we are going to drop her off, if I should walk her into her room or not. Mayah pipes up to say "no, I don't want you to walk me to my room"....ouch... Kyle heads to restroom singing heartbreaker, just to annoy me. We made it to school, against her wishes I walked her to her room and she went right in, no problems, no tears. She was ready. I went to the van where Kyle was waiting with Mason and Madison, and let the flood gates open....tears are streaming. Kyle comforts me and tells me she would be fine. At the end of the day she loved her first day, wants to go back and that makes me so happy.

What a beautiful girl so nice so cute!! I knew she would love school!! This was the first of several tears thru the years.......I'm glad you have kyle to sing heartbreaker for you love you guys!!!!!!!!!!!!

I read the post with tears coming down my face and then break into laughter with Kyle's song. I couldn't imagine the day going any differently. I HEART the GORSH kids!!!!

Mayah you look so pretty for your
first day of school. Your mom had me crying too thinking you are getting so big and going to school. I remember when I was walking your dad to school on his first day. Have fun this year. We love you. Grandma and Grandpa G.

Okay...so I must have needed a good cry...thanks :) We are so proud of Mayah...she is such a big girl!
