Awhile ago we bought tickets to take the kids on the Boone Co. Railroad "Polar Express Ride". We didn't tell the kids so it was a surprise last night when we told them at 4:00 to get on their pajama's. We told them where we were going and they we soooo excited. It was such a fun night. We went to the Boone railroad and boarded the trail that was decorated so nice with Christmas lights. Then we started on our hour ride to the "north pole" they read the book "The Polar express", sang songs, had hot chocolate and a cookie. When we got to the "north pole" Santa came on board and gave all of the kids a silver bell. The kids had so much fun. They would ask for kids to volunteer to come up and lead the songs, Mayah didn't want to do it but Mason seemed to want to, so with a little encouragement Mason went up to the front of the car and sang songs with the other kids. I think he was pretty proud of himself. It was a fun night of family time. We have fun with the kids and Santa but it is very important to us that they know the true meaning of Christmas. We want to make sure the kids understand that we celebrate Jesus on Christmas and how important it was that he was born to be a Saviour for all of us! It was a fun night and hopefully the kids will have fun memories of it as they grow!
