Here are some pictures of Madison's stay at Blank Children's Hospital. She was taken to the ER by ambulance on Thursday afternoon (that was a first for both of us). It all started a couple weeks ago, when she started throwing up randomly, no fever or diarrhea. It was really random, one day she would be just fine and the next she would throw up. I had called the nurse and she scheduled Madison an appointment on Friday. Well Thursday after we picked up Mayah from school she vomited in the car and again when we got home. I called the nurse to tell her I didn't think we should wait until Friday. That's when I noticed Madison's abdomen getting really large and hard and she started struggling to get a breath. While I was on the phone with the nurse she called the ambulance to our house. Thankfully our good friend Steve was on his way to our house to help Kyle get some stuff for our basement. I think it is just awesome how the Lord works, because Steve was suppose to come on Tuesday but that fell through so Thursday was the day he was coming to town. The timing was perfect because he pulled into our drive about 5-10 min before the ambulance so he stayed with Mayah and Mason while I rode with Madison in the ambulance and Kyle followed. What a blessing to not have to bring Mayah and Mason to the ER with us. It was pretty crazy in the ER lots of people working on her and getting information from us. After the doctors and nurses in the ER got her stable and put a NG tube in her to relieve all the pressure in her abdomen they took a bunch of xrays and everything, then admitted her to the hospital to have LOTS of tests done to see what was going on. Poor Madison had to put up with lots of poking, needles, tubes, xrays, etc. She would scream anytime anybody with scrubs on would come into the room to talk to us or look at her. Well after 4 long days and lots of tests they determined that a virus caused gastroenteritis, which lead to and illeous (sp?) which basically means her GI system stopped moving everything through. Thankfully now we are home, she has some medication and is feeling MUCH better. Thanks for all of your prayers, phone calls, and helping out with the kids!! We really appreciate it!
