A Fun Labor day Weekend!!

We had such a fun labor day weekend. We traveled back to our hometowns for a visit with family. We arrived on Friday night and had a nice dinner at Kyle's parents as they were leaving town on Saturday morning for vacation. Saturday was the first Hawkeye football game so some people were VERY excited and couldn't sleep the night before....ahem Kyle. ;) Saturday we got up and had a great breakfast, played outside, and watched the Hawks WIN!! Saturday night we had a big cookout with all of my family except my brother Phil who is deployed to Afganistan. We had fun playing games, eating, laughing, talking, and then all of the grandkids had a sleepover and "camped out" watching old disney movies together. The guys went to a late night movie, and I stayed up late playing board games with my older nephews. I loved it!! Sunday we had a big German pancake breakfast that my dad made. (My dad made them all gluten free so Madison could have them too!) Anyways, Sunday was pretty relaxing but we decided not to go to church because some of the kids were sick, but that afternoon we did take them all down to fly my dad's big kite in Camanche. The grandkids loved it and Madison kept getting mad because she would run to get the kite and by the time she got there it would go down....it was kinda funny. Monday wasn't great as I got sick and spent the day resting. Kyle took the older kids to Eagle point park to take some pictures and play which they really enjoyed! Tuesday morning we packed up and came home sweet home. It was a nice long weekend.
