Our first day of school started with Mason charging through our room door and saying, "Mom and Dad, I forgot to tell you something. I start kindergarten today." Pretty sure we already knew that but thanks for the wake up. We got up and went downstairs to make their first day of school breakfast. French toast with strawberry syrup was on the menu. Things are running smoothly..yay for no tears yet :) Then it was off to find the perfect outfit. So Mason was pretty easy besides he couldn't decide on shoes that were just right so we went with sandals on the first day, rather than the "pistol" shoes we were considering. Whew... we made it through that. Now to Mayah's room well she had all sorts of ideas but we needed to find the perfect top with the perfect bottom that also matched the perfect shoes with then cordinated with the perfect hair accessory. We managed to come out okay...barely ;) Then it was outside for the photo shoot, which went off without a hitch...as you can see! The only bad part of the photo shoot was that McClain was still sleeping so no photos of him. We all loaded in the super cool mini-van and headed to school. On the way Mason said that "He was a little nervous." We assured him that he was going to have a fantastic day, although I strongly considered asking him if he wanted to stay with me ;) Kyle dropped me and kids off so I could take a picture in front of the school sign and walk them in the first day. Then we headed in the building. We took pictures with each of their teachers, in front of classroom, lockers, walking down the hall, in front of the restrooms...kidding I really didn't go that far!! Anyways, we dropped Mayah off first with a hug and a kiss, (I think...it's kinda blurry in my mind and I only can see her running into class) Then to Mason's room where I walked him in helped him put his backpack in his locker and find his seat again, gave him a hug and kiss.....left the room.....tears forming....Kyle picked me up.....tears streaming down my face.....It's so hard to leave them. Prayed for their day and anticipating their return and all of the stories that come with it.
